If you are looking for a honeymoon destination within the United States, there are many favorites.
San Francisco, Lake Tahoe, Niagara Falls, The Pocono Mountains, Miami, The two Disneyland Theme Parks, Virginia Beach, The snow ski resorts in the winter, San Antonio, New Orleans, San Diego, Los Angeles - Hollywood, New York city, Monterey, Sonoma/Napa wine regions and many of our national parks. Consider a place where newly married love has been in its "mist" for hundreds of years: Niagara Falls, New York. Today, over 50,000 honeymooners still travel to Niagara Falls each year! The obvious draw of Niagara Falls is its water. There are three waterfalls in the Niagara Falls region--Rainbow and Bridal Veil Falls on the American side and the largest--Horseshoe Falls--on the Canadian. All three falls are in very close proximity and are just a short and beautiful stroll away from one another. With nearly 4,000 rooms on the American side along, there are more then enough places to stay for every pocketbook and personality. After a few days at the fall many people move their exploration to the Niagara-On-The-Lake district (about twenty miles North of the Falls) The historic Lake area is home to many boutiques, bed and breakfasts and restaurants and there are many wineries to explore nearby. Another travel option would be to combine your Niagara Falls visit with a trip to Toronto, Canada. Toronto is an amazing city teeming with great restaurants, fine lodging, and many cultural, shopping, and sporting opportunities. Toronto is about a one and a half hour drive from Niagara Falls and well worth it. Consider San Francisco - a heart-throb of a city! From the skyline beauty, fine accommodations, entertainment and the best of theater, arts, museums and excellent array of restaurants you will find this cosmopolitan city a unique and romantic experience. Please read our guest article on over 70 things to do while in the San Francisco Bay area. By Anne Wycoff. Laid back or restful honeymoons are found at Lake Tahoe, The Pocono Mountains, Virginia Beach and the seven wine country regions of California. The U.S. offers inland waterway cruises, train trips, historical cities and uniquely beautiful landscapes from one state to the other. It is all here and waiting for your first, second, third or 50th honeymoon. |
