We hear so many friends and family saying they want to put everyone together for the family vacation of a lifetime with kids and grandkids.

First things first, there are a few discerning factors here that can disrupt the plans, but this usually works out with amazing fun for everyone, and best of all great memories and photographs!

  • Everyone's calendar
  • Who decides where or how
  • Who pays
  • What are the contents
  • Too much togetherness
  • What about things to do for the young
  • Safety of the little ones
POSSIBLE SOLUTION
The parents often determine this or take a vote Some parents pay for grand children only or kids Or ....everyone
Best to put a little of everything in the mix Choose a place where people can find privacy Either bring it with you or check what's provided Safety of the little ones Always a top priority that they are not left alone anywhere in today's world

We are seeing everything from house rentals, home exchanges or condos and cruises being considered along with a few great new children-friendly resorts. The world is getting smaller!!

These are a few suggestions.

Hawaii with a resort or group of condos is fun where everyone can eat one meal a day together, eat from the kitchen in the condo, restaurant occasionally and run to play or go on excursions.

Gathering near the Disneyland of choice. There are resorts, condos and campgrounds. The Good Sam Clubs offer amazing campgrounds world wide. And Disney offers the exciting cruise ships that children and adults come back from with rave reviews!

Rent a large cabin in the mountains and enjoy the wonders, hiking and lake swimming or fishing.

Consider a winter reunion with the ski slopes to challenge your skills.

Meet in New York to see a stage play for a 3-day reunion.

Go on an Africa Safari and see the animals first hand

MAJOR CONCERNS
  • Missed flights
  • Someone ill or sea sick
  • People getting along
  • Communication – set up an e-mail system

Don't put it off, plan it, life is too short.
