While there may be new hotels and resorts going up around these established honeymoon spots, we know it will take the new ones years to get the service down that we enjoyed at Sans Souci. Couple's Resorts have a greeting area after you leave airport customs. They escort their guests to air conditioned vans and send them to the correct resort. On Jamaica, West Indies there are four Couple's Resorts plus many other popular all-inclusive vacation and honeymoon retreats. Couples in Jamaica, offers four all-inclusive locations: Ocho Rios, Sans Souci, Swept Away and Negril at various points of the island. Each of these resorts is located on the coastline and provide beautiful views, water sports, restaurants and bars onsite for mixing any style drink you prefer and each bartender had his own special concoction. Your room, as well has a well-stocked refrigerator containing fruit juices and alcohol varieties is replenished often. The dining plate is the chef's palette. Sans Souci prides itself on serving beautifully presented food for the breakfast buffet and each five course meal at two on-site restaurants. The vans can be scheduled to take you to explore other nearby Couple's resorts and restaurants. We found of the guests we met appreciated the room service meals for various reasons. One couple had always wanted to experience breakfast in bed, another couple arrived late and hungry, another had an injury and required dinner in their suite while another said they were hungry again. Guests certainly do not lose weight here. You can drive to each of the resorts for a different beach, or experience a different chef for dinner or lunch when you are a Couple's guest and also spend part of your vacation at one resort and then another. Most Couple's Resorts have tennis, beach and golf sports on-site or nearby, so you can be as active as you desire. There were several fun excursions in their all-inclusive package. You may find one or all memorable. The resort is so private and quiet, even with three swimming pools and a delightful beach you forget there is anyone else on the property. We were amazed at the number of guests that appeared out of nowhere for a delightful beach party with Jamaican food favorites and colorful entertainment. We will remember the marimba band, the sound of waves lapping the shore during our relaxing couples massage in the unique hut positioned over the surf and the enjoyable twilight cocktail party beside the swimming pool. Destination weddings are made easy at San Souci and other Couple's Resorts. They can handle several weddings a day with coordinators, flowers, photographers and your catered banquet for two or a hundred guests completed to your desires. There are several ceremony locations on the resort site with backdrops of palm trees and ocean. Corporate incentive business events are given complete coordination at these locations and offer several creative team building events, plus Internet in each room at Sans Souci. Jamaica was a Columbus landfall in 1494. Many flags have flown over their island with well-known entertainers having homes on the island and some call this their birth place. Famous for their mountain-grown coffee and tropical climate, we found it an island filled with friendly people who were very proud of their independent nation with parliamentary democracy. Seeing the island is part of the fun...either with a car rental [drive British Style], or sign up for many of the day trips the resorts offer to the various island excursions. They include biking, scooters, rain forests, coffee plantations, golf courses, sailing, scuba, snorkeling or climbing waterfalls and exploring unique bird sanctuaries. The island has excellent dinner houses and busy nightclubs (including Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville) in the major ports. Add this to the quiet beaches and you will quickly understand the question the islanders asked us, "Will you return?" Who could resist. Best times for visitors are the winter and spring months. Worst times to visit: Very hot in June/ July and August through November, which is also the hurricane season. Jamaica is rarely bothered by hurricanes yet it has a rainy season.
